STEMNET

Over many years I have been involved in teaching and coaching young people as
my background is technology related. This encompasses for example radio
interference, audio production and media in a broad and diverse range of
projects over a 30 year period.

STEMNET creates opportunities to inspire young people in Science, Technology,
Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). This enables young people to develop their
creativity, problem-solving and employability skills, widens their choices
and supports the UK’s future competitiveness.

STEMNET helps encourage young people to be well informed about STEM, able to
engage fully in debate, and make decisions about STEM related issues.
MildenHall College of Technology - 'World of Work Day' - Workshops

As a STEMNET Ambassador based in Suffolk, on Tuesday, 7th July, 2009 at
MildenHall College of Technology, I attended a 'World of Work Day' where I
talked personally about career paths and choices to sixth form students
regarding insights into career opportunities.

The day consisted of six workshops lasting approximately 20-25 minutes each
with ten students per session, finishing each session with questions and
answers.

The day was completed with some of the students experiencing a mock interview
fronted by myself, where I was able to present constructive feedback to give
each individual confidence and a focus on those issues which needed improving
to better themselves
